Aline Shader

Aline Shader was educated at Carnegie Mellon University, University of Hartford Art School, Champlain College, and Chautauqua Institute of Art. She also studied under Henry Koerner for 3 years and painted with him on locations in Pittsburgh. Aline has worked as an art instructor in various private schools, and as a consultant for many community organizations, including the Three Rivers Arts Festival. Her artwork has been shown in group and solo exhibitions, and is represented in various private collections. Aline is a member of Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Group. 

Aline states "The central focus of my artwork has been the human figure. There is no other subject that has been as fascinating for me as an artist. I try to create and capture its many moods and feelings in whatever medium I use, whether it be paint, charcoal, pen and ink or graphite." She has exhibited at Studio Z, Blue Sky Gallery, University of Pittsburgh Gallery, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Three Rivers Arts Festival, Art Institute of Pittsburgh Gallery, Artisans Gallery, Pittsburgh Watercolor Society Show, the Regional Watercolor Show, the Undercroft Gallery and the CCAV Gallery in Chautauqua. Aline is an expert in contour drawing techniques. She draws people on buses, trains and at airports. She draws in the waiting rooms of doctor's offices and at her summer home in Chautauqua, NY.
